Wedding Website

The knot offers a very simple and straightforward website to post all your updates on your wedding, I did it mostly so Jon will remember details, like, when, where, who....best part about it is the countdown!

Wedding scheme

I love peacock feathers and I'm learning about the symbolism of the peacock and its gorgeous feathers and feel it will carry over well to my wedding day, both symbolically and decoratively...

Holiday Dresses

Everyone loves to wear black, gold, silver and red during the holidays, navy is even big right now, but I like to spice things up, and if I had extra few grand lying around I would splurge on this little Oscar de la Renta number...check it out and a number of other lovely cocktail dresses at http://www.net-a-porter.com

Holy Tortilla

I am at a shoot, talking about tortillas, all the different kinds of tortillas there are. I love certain type of tortillas with certain types of food. ALWAYS with Mexican food, never use them as "wraps." I'm not a fan of wraps.

Corn tortillas....

Must be yellow, not white, and not blue. These are best when eating beans, best for quesadillas and best with chicken dishes, and stews.

Flour tortillas, homemade preferabl. These are best with pork dishes, carne con chile, good with steak fajitas, ground beef dishes.

Now when my family makes homemade flour tortillas, I love to heat up a fresh flour tort and melt butter on it, roll it up and eat it, just butter. I love butter.

Pigeons like Flaming Hot Cheetos

I saw a whole flock of pigeons eating Flaming Hot Cheetos, at first I
thought they would react to the spicy flavor buy they didn't wince at
all at the taste. They proceeded to eat the Cheetos and called their
buddies over for a feast. I'll tell you what though, I bet ya they
were wishing they had some purple pop to was it all down with.

When I was studying abroad in Paris I would meet my friends Jenny and
Daniel out for lunch and we would always meet in this one plaza and we
started to notice the pigeons all had some sort of deformity. Some had
only 1 eye or a mangled wing, that sort of thing. We would repeatedly
see this one pigeon that had only 1 foot! We nicknamed it but it's not
coming to me right now...

Call me OCD, but I like to frequent this site and make sure the number of clicks is at a multiple of "5"

Sneezing

I just sneezed 9 times in a row on the train, no joke, what's more
weird is the lady sitting across from me who was on her phone said
"god bless you" 9 times!

That was on the Metra, definitely would not have happened on the El, I
would have been looked at as a nuisaance.

If you wanna make my sister sneeze just give her anything with
chocolate! Like clockwork...

Dancing

I know I said I wasn't going to blog about wedding planning, but I'M GETTING MARRIED PEOPLE, SO THERE IS BOUND TO BE WEDDING NEWS....

I put my fiance Jon in charge of music, he's in charge of playlists, our first dance song, and finding a company. My father however is in charge of finding the Mariachi band that we want to perform for a couple hours.

I just got an email from my aunt asking me if I was planning on playing Spanish music, I said of course! I know how important music and dancing is to my family. We're Mexican so we like to drink and dance. I was reminded of this when I stumbled upon these small videos taken last Christmas Eve, dance party started up at like 2 in them morning in my basement.

Let me clear my throat

Welcome friends, family and functioning alcoholics.  I hope you find what I have to contribute stimulating and most of all inspiring.  I was inspired to start a blog by a friend of mine.  I was in the midst of making fun of her for having a blog when it hit me, "Oh my God, I want a blog."

I started thinking what could I blog about, so that got me thinking, what do I like to talk about?  But then why not just talk about that.  So then I asked myself, what do I like, and dislike to think about?

We'll start with my new favorite phrase that I heard for the first time in an email from my future mother-in-law, "...took his lumps like a man."

What does it mean?

-Folded
-Gave in
-Came to his senses
-Gave up (harsh)
-took it on the chin
-all of the above
